Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Project Director to lead the growth, development, and execution of one of our industrial exhibitions in India. This leadership role combines business development, stakeholder management, project oversight, and team leadership to drive sustainable growth and deliver exceptional event experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of exhibition and associated portfolio.
- Drive revenue growth through exhibitor sales, sponsorship acquisition, partnerships, advertisement sales and new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry associations, key stakeholders, exhibitors, sponsors, and government bodies.
- Oversee project budgets, financial planning, forecasting, and profitability targets
- Lead and mentor sales and project managers and assist team to reach sale targets
- Work with cross-functional teams across marketing, operations and finance.
- Identify market trends, emerging sectors, and growth opportunities to expand existing events and launch new initiatives.
- Oversee and enable seamless event execution and maintain the highest standards of customer experience.
- Represent Messe Stuttgart India at industry events, conferences, and networking platforms.
- Develop strategic partnerships that enhance the visibility and value proposition of our exhibitions.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of experience in exhibitions, B2B events, trade fairs, conferences, or related industries.
- Proven track record in business development, sales leadership, and revenue generation.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in managing budgets, P&L, and business growth targets.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel and oversee on-site event execution as required.
