Job Title: Project Manager (Wind & BESS Projects)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of Wind and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from initiation through commissioning and handover. This role will be responsible for managing technical, commercial, and operational aspects of projects, ensuring seamless execution and successful transition to operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full project lifecycle for Wind and BESS projects: planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, milestones, and deliverables
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, SCADA/EMS, commissioning, QA) and external stakeholders (clients, OEMs, contractors)
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Oversee site activities including installation, integration, testing, commissioning, and final acceptance
- Track project progress and proactively manage risks, issues, and interdependencies
- Conduct regular project meetings and provide clear status reporting to management and customers
- Coordinate closely with O&M teams to ensure smooth and timely transfer of completed Wind and BESS sites into operations
- Ensure all handover requirements are fulfilled, including as-built documentation, SCADA/EMS configuration, system performance validation, training, and punch list closure
- Act as the key interface between project delivery and operations to ensure long-term asset performance and maintainability
- Ensure compliance with contractual, technical, and safety requirements
- Support contract management, variation orders, and commercial discussions where required
- Drive continuous improvement in project execution and handover processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering
- Minimum 3–8 years of project management experience (adjust based on level)
- Experience in energy, solar, BESS, SCADA, EMS, or industrial systems is highly preferred
- Familiar with the functions and technical requirements of core power system platforms including SCADA, EMS, PPC, etc.
- Proficient in mainstream communication protocols; capable of analyzing communication faults, such as IEC 104, Modbus TCP, OPC and other standard protocols.
- Familiar with Indian grid code and grid compliance test requirements, covering active power, reactive power, voltage, frequency and power factor regulation.
- Basic knowledge of Linux operating system.
- Able to conduct preliminary analysis and troubleshooting on grid testing related issues.
- Knowledgeable about high and low voltage equipment in substations.
- Understand the operating principle of wind power generation and BESS energy storage systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP / PRINCE2 certification or equivalent
- Experience in site commissioning and deployment projects
- Experience managing utility-scale wind or BESS projects
- Familiarity with contract management and commercial terms
