Programme Overview

Peepul has been partnering with the School Education Department, Govt of Madhya Pradesh, for multiple years now. Working closely with the state bureaucratic leadership, Peepul has played a meaningful role in strengthening the education system of the state.

The partnership has been a successful one with national and international recognition of the work. Some of the flagship programmes of the state we are co-leading include:

• Sandipani Vidyalaya Teacher Professional Development programme: This international award-winning programme looks to strengthen the training, coaching and performance management of the 300,000 teachers across the state.
• Sandipani Vidyalaya Schools: This breakthrough programme looks to build 10,000 world-class public schools in the state, that enable excellence. In the first phase, there are 300 K-12 schools selected. Peepul is co-leading the Academic Support and Monitoring Unit.

Beyond this, we have been involved with Mission Education in the Alirajpur District of MP (Ministry of Education-led initiative for strengthening Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) and World Bank-supported projects in the state. Furthermore, we are expanding our partnership with Amazon India under the Amazon Future Engineers umbrella. This collaboration focuses on strengthening Computer Science education in Sandipani Vidyalaya Schools in Madhya Pradesh. With a successful engagement in our Exemplar schools and now the scaling up of the partnership in Delhi, we have a solid foundation to enable this opportunity further.

About the role

The Programme Manager Digital Literacy is the strategic lead for future-ready skills, digital literacy, and Computer Science across Madhya Pradesh. S/he will spearhead digital integration across 3,700 ICT schools of the School Education Department (SED), with a high-intensity focus on building excellence within 1,100 Sandipani / PM SHRI schools as state-wide benchmarks.

With an entrepreneurial mindset, the Programme Manager takes end-to-end ownership of programme workstreams, integrates efforts across teams and geographies, and continuously identifies opportunities to deepen impact and scale learning.

Drawing on strong subject-matter expertise and on-ground insights, they shape meaningful curriculum, capacity-building initiatives, and knowledge assets that strengthen the public education system. As a leader, the Programme Manager prioritises colleague experience, communicates with clarity and empathy, builds strong relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders, and motivates and empowers teams while managing their own energy and effectiveness.

The Programme Manager plays a critical role in Peepul's continued partnership with the Government of Madhya Pradesh and the Amazon Future Engineer ecosystem, working towards the shared goal of equitable access to quality Computer Science education and strengthening public schools as exemplars of effective implementation.

Responsibilities would include (including but not limited to):

Strategic Design & Roadmap

• Drive the digital education roadmap for the 3,700 ICT school network.
• Lead the design of the Computer Science curriculum for MP in collaboration with SED and subject matter experts.
• Oversee instructional design for blended learning, ensuring resources are pedagogically sound and user-friendly for teachers and students.

Capacity Building & Excellence

• Design and lead large-scale training initiatives to empower teachers to use technology as a core instructional tool.
• Nurture a network of Teacher Champions in Sandipani / PM SHRI schools to model best-in-class digital instruction.
• Utilize classroom observations and data analytics to monitor tool efficacy and student learning outcomes.

Stakeholder & Partnership Management

• Act as the primary liaison between Peepul, SED MP, and the donor ecosystem.
• Represent the organization in high-level government reviews regarding ICT school performance and digital education policy.

Team Leadership

• Manage a high-performing team, establishing clear KPIs for the state-wide scale-up of digital initiatives.
• Foster an innovative culture by staying abreast of global EdTech and Computer Science education trends.

Qualifications and Role Requirements:

At Peepul, we seek talented professionals passionate about driving educational transformation and making a positive impact. We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and meet the role requirements.

• Educational Background:Masters: Education, Social Sciences, or a related Development field. Bachelors: B.Tech / B.E. / B.Sc in Information Technology or Computer Science.
• Work Experience: We value both professional and personal experience. Candidates with 810 years in designing/delivering large-scale educational interventions (preferably EdTech or government-led systems). Additionally, experience working with government entities and familiarity with the Indian education system are highly desirable.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of school ICT infrastructure and digital curriculum frameworks.
• Other Skills: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee end-to-end training content development and delivery.
• Language Proficiency: English and Hindi
