With support from the partners, S M Sehgal Foundation (Sehgal Foundation) designs and promotes rural development interventions that create opportunities, build resilience, and provide solutions to some of the most pressing challenges in India's poorest communities.

S M Sehgal Foundation invites applications for the position of Program Lead.

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka

Experience: Minimum 5-7 years experience in managing Integrated Village Development Projects or FPOs

Position Requirements:

  • Master's in Social Work/Social Science/Agriculture Engineering/Rural Management/Sustainable Development
  • Good written and communication skills in English, Kannada and other regional languages, including Hindi
  • Strong skills in team leadership, project management, and implementation
  • Experience of working in specific thematic areas like agriculture/ FPO/nutrition/ women empowerment/ water management will be preferred
  • Willingness to travel to remote field locations/villages

Job Description:

The Program Lead will oversee a host of different village development projects ensuring effective implementation and providing leadership to field teams. Key responsibilities include monitoring project progress, coordinating operational and technical aspects, preparing progress reports, managing partner visits and reports, and providing administrative support. The role also involves developing annual plans and budgets, selecting new project locations, fostering innovation, and strengthening partnerships with government departments and district administrations. Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Lead and coordinate the planning, monitoring, and execution of project activities, including supervision and strategic guidance to ensure timely and effective implementation
  • Build the skills and knowledge of project teams and beneficiaries in key aspects of integrated village development projects like agriculture, nutrition, women empowerment, water management, among others
  • Conceptualize and support the generation of knowledge products, including innovative training materials and manuals, as per project requirements
  • Develop and manage output, outcome, and impact matrices to evaluate project performance and ensure measurable results
  • Provide timely approvals concerning hiring of resources and all project-related procurement as per the organization's policies
  • Document and disseminate project success stories and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports
  • Oversee and ensure timely submission of all project documentation as per partner requirements
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with corporate partners, government departments, and community leaders to ensure project alignment with local needs and partner requirements
  • Take on other tasks as assigned by management to meet organizational needs
