Responsibilities
Resident Engineer – Network Test & Automation (Google Account)
We are looking for a highly skilled
Resident Engineer to support a strategic Google account, working on cutting-edge
Network test Automation and Traffic validation solutions. This is a customer-facing role requiring strong technical depth, fast response, and a proactive mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide real-time technical support via vendor chat for network testing and automation issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IxNetwork, Open Traffic Generator, IxExplorer, and Ixia hardware
- Debug protocols such as BGP, IS-IS, RSVP, MPLS, MacSec, and traffic/aggregation scenarios
- Support automation frameworks (Python, RestPy, REST APIs) and validate customer test cases
- Work on FP testing, topology setup (UHD, Ixia-C, HW ports), and feature validation
- Investigate issues from partner bug tracking systems and drive them toward closure
- Collaborate with NEMs (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Nokia, Ciena) on private repos and Slack channels
- Contribute to GitHub PRs and automation test development
- Troubleshoot port/link/transceiver issues using Ix tools
- Provide user onboarding and technical guidance when required
- Partner with internal teams (R&D, QA, Support, PM) and customer teams for resolution
- Maintain fast response times and a strong customer-first approach
Qualifications
Required Skills
- 10+ years in Networking / Test & measurement + Automation
- Strong Python scripting(must-have)
- Strong Golang intermediary understanding (must-have)
- Strong understanding of Git and version control methodologies
- Hands-on with IxNetwork, IxExplorer, Open Traffic Generator, Ixia platforms
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Linux environments
- Strong knowledge of Routing & Switching protocols(BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, VPNs, SDN)
- Experience in Test topology design, Traffic validation, and Debugging
- Familiarity with REST APIs, RestPy, DUT configurations
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and multitasking skills
- Self-driven with a can-do attitude and quick response mindset
Good to Have
- Experience with IxLoad / BreakingPoint (BPS)
- CCNP or equivalent certification
- Exposure to hyperscaler environments (Google or similar)
