Job Overview
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day production activities at our manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth operations by executing the production plan, managing workforce and inventory, ensuring quality compliance, and driving continuous improvements in the shopfloor.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily and weekly production plans in line with customer delivery schedules.
- Monitor machine utilization, production output, and ensure timely completion of production targets.
- Supervise and coordinate with shopfloor operators, contract workforce, and technical staff.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and housekeeping (5S) standards.
- Manage raw material, consumables, and finished goods inventory for smooth production flow.
- Coordinate with the Tool Room and Maintenance teams for upkeep of dies, fixtures, and other tools.
- Maintain production documentation including shift reports, downtime logs, and production records.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement improvement initiatives to enhance productivity.
- Train and develop operators and workforce on operational standards and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with ISO and other regulatory requirements.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (shearing, bending, punching, grinding, etc.)
- Understanding of production planning, tooling, and material management
- Hands-on approach to shopfloor supervision
- Effective leadership and team management skills
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, Excel, and production reporting
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Exposure to lean manufacturing / Kaizen / 5S is a plus
Preferred Experience
- Experience in an MSME or OEM vendor setup in the engineering or agri-equipment industry
- Hands-on experience in supervising press shop / fabrication processes
- Familiarity with quality inspection procedures and customer audits
