Job Description

Job Title: Production Manager

Location: Bangalore

Overview

Project Mirage is a Bangalore based stealth startup with a 20 member team of Engineers and Designers who have built at Ultrahuman and Nokia before. We are developing the next-generation of Consumer Hardware products powered by AI to transform how humans do every day to day task.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Set up and manage the full production line for the Smart Wearable, including layout, workflows, tooling, and personnel planning.
  2. Ensure compliance with consumer electronics manufacturing requirements, including ESD safety, cleanliness standards, controlled environments, and component-handling best practices.
  3. Recruit, train, and manage a large production workforce; maintain clear communication and coordination across multilingual teams.
  4. Build a strong, process-driven culture within the production team, ensuring discipline, consistency, and attention to detail.
  5. Work closely with the design team to develop, refine, and maintain SOPs for every stage of assembly and testing.
  6. Establish robust processes to minimize waste, improve yield, and enhance overall production efficiency.
  7. Create systems to track every product and every batch of raw material throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
  8. Maintain clean, well-structured records for incoming materials, in-process inventory, outgoing products, and wastage at each step.
  9. Oversee daily production metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
  10. Coordinate with Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production issues and ensure smooth operation.

Required Qualifications

  1. 35 years of experience in production management or manufacturing engineering, preferably in consumer electronics.
  2. Proven experience setting up a production line from scratch, including workflow design and ramp-up.
  3. Strong understanding of ESD safety practices, cleanroom/controlled-environment protocols, and electronics assembly standards.
  4. Demonstrated leadership experience managing large teams.
  5. Capable of building structured SOPs, documentation, and process guidelines.
  6. Strong analytical, organizational, and record-keeping skills with attention to detail.
  7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment.
  8. Ability to communicate in a wide variety of languages and cultural backgrounds to enable highly effective people/personnel management.

Preferred Skills

  1. Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar process-improvement methodologies.
  2. Familiarity with MES systems, ERP systems, or digital production tracking tools.
  3. Knowledge of supplier management and component sourcing workflows.
  4. Experience supporting pilot builds and scaling to mass production.
