Role Description

Job Overview

We are looking for an experiencedProduction & Quality Control (QC) Managerto oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations in our leather goods factory. The candidate will be responsible for managing production planning, supervising all stages of manufacturing, ensuring quality standards, and improving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution

  • Plan and monitor complete production flow across all stages:
  • Cutting
  • Splitting
  • Skiving
  • Stitching
  • Fitting
  • Checking & Packing
  • Ensure timely execution of orders as per delivery schedules
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks at each production stage

2. Workforce Management

  • Arrange and allocate skilled workers for each process
  • Supervise daily production activities and ensure discipline on the floor
  • Fix and manage piece rates for different articles and processes
  • Coordinate with contractors/job workers if required

3. Quality Control (QC)

  • Implement quality checks at:
  • Pre-production stage
  • In-line production stage
  • Final inspection stage
  • Identify defects and take corrective actions immediately
  • Ensure consistent product quality as per buyer specifications

4. Process Improvement & Efficiency

  • Analyze production inefficiencies and implement improvements
  • Reduce wastage and optimize material utilization
  • Increase productivity while maintaining quality standards
  • Standardize processes and workflows

5. Production Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track daily production targets vs actual output
  • Maintain reports on production, defects, and efficiency
  • Coordinate with management regarding production status

Key Requirements

  • Experience:
  • Minimum 3-5 years in leather goods manufacturing
  • Prior experience in a similar factory inKolkatapreferred
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of leather production processes (cutting to packing)
  • Knowledge of machines and tools used in leather goods manufacturing
  • Experience in handling bags, wallets, and SLG production
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management
  • Problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Good understanding of quality control systems
  • Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Hands-on experience managing factory floor operations
  • Ability to independently manage production flow
  • Strong eye for detail and product finishing
  • Good coordination and communication skills
