Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Product Packaging Designer to join our team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will be a graphic designer with a specialized focus on packaging, bringing products to life through compelling and functional design. This role requires a blend of artistic vision, technical knowledge of materials and printing, and a deep understanding of brand strategy. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing packaging designs from initial sketch to final production, ensuring every package is not only visually stunning but also practical, sustainable, and on-brand.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Concept Development: Develop innovative and creative packaging concepts that align with brand identity, product requirements, and target audience.

Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and manufacturing teams to understand project goals and translate them into effective packaging solutions.

Prototyping & Production: Create prototypes, mockups, and 3D renderings to test and visualize designs. Prepare and manage print-ready files for production, conducting press checks to ensure quality and color accuracy.

Market & Trend Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor packaging, and consumer behaviors to create designs that stand out in the market.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all packaging designs adhere to necessary safety, labeling, and regulatory standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience: Professional experience in graphic design with a focus on product packaging.

Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful packaging design projects.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for creating vector artwork, editing images, and preparing print-ready files.
  • Proficiency with CorelDRAW is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Canva is a bonus for quick mockups or internal-use graphics, but a deep understanding of professional print design is paramount.

Knowledge:

  • A strong eye for design with a keen understanding of typography, layout, hierarchy, and visual balance.
  • In-depth understanding of color psychology and how to use color to influence consumer emotions and perceptions.
  • A solid understanding of packaging materials, print production processes (CMYK, spot colors, die-lines), and manufacturing techniques.

Soft Skills:

  • Creativity: The ability to think innovatively and translate abstract ideas into tangible designs.
  • Detail-Oriented: A meticulous eye for typography, color, and layout.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly to both creative and non-creative teams.
  • Project Management: The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
