Product Owner - Methods & Tools

It is a transverse team working with different core engineering verticals in Airbus. The USP of this team is working in a multi-functional environment providing digital solutions to engineering problems. The USP of the team is people with Core Engineering domain knowledge complemented by software development skills. The team plays an enabler role in various digitization initiatives across Airbus utilizing the latest technologies and the domain knowledge they have. Some examples of the digital solutions for various Core Engineering departments such as Data driven designs of wiring, automated routing electrical harnesses, Data Analytics based products aimed at reducing physical tests of material specimens. It also involves developing web-based solutions to encapsulate and automate different workflows such as flight test planning etc. In addition to these points, developing tools for Electrical Wiring Harness and Hydraulic Circuit design process improvements. Some of the tools developed; are used in the areas of Aircraft Safety analysis and Engineering Business Data monitoring etc. M&T is also deeply involved in Agile Scrum and SAFe in developing state of the art digital products for the areas mentioned above.

Main Activities:

Contributes in preparing the Release Plan / Program Increment (PI) Plan

Defines the iteration objectives

Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, to ensure work focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.

Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation.

Coordinates and synchronizes with other Product Owners, part of the same Agile Release Train

Defines Definition of Done & Definition of Ready

Ensure the quality of user stories by validating the user stories

Skills Required:

Preferred Aerospace Domain Experience.

Certified Product Owner - Scaled Agile Framework

Overall understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

Experience in software development using JAVA/ C++/ C# (one of the three Object Oriented languages)

Experience in Front End technologies (Angular / JQuery / ExtJS / Node JS)

Good understanding of the Software Development Life cycle (SDLC).

Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (SAFe / Scrum / Kanban)

Product/Project Management

Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Basic exposure to software development competencies.
