Who We Are

Build a brighter future while learning and growing with a Siemens company at the intersection of technology, community and sustainability. Our global team of innovators is always looking to create meaningful solutions to some of the toughest challenges facing our world. Find out how far your passion can take you.

About The Job

The Product Owner is a crucial member of an agile team responsible for executing Product Management's product vision and business strategy to drive growth. You own the complete journey from the backlog to delivered solution, partnering with development teams to execute using agile methodologies. You use data analysis to prioritize work, define clear requirements and acceptance criteria, manage the backlog effectively, and ensure quality before delivery to achieve measurable value. You leverage AI tools to enhance your effectiveness—from analyzing customer usage and writing clear requirements to making informed decisions and identifying risks.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity in backlog management, analysis, writing, and decision-making, staying current with relevant AI capabilities for product ownership.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior Product Owners, guiding them in best practices and fostering their professional growth.
  • Collaborate strategically with Product Management to influence product visions, roadmaps, business strategies, and outbound marketing collateral.
  • Partner closely with Engineering Managers to understand and advocate for their agile teams needs within Product Management.
  • Lead or actively support the development and refinement of methodologies and best practices within the Product Owner function.
  • Actively participate in management reviews and presentations as required, representing product ownership perspectives.
  • Develop solutions to real-world market problems identified by Product Management's roadmap by executing agile methodologies, breaking down work into clear user stories with acceptance criteria, and running effective agile ceremonies.
  • Communicate sprint priorities and goals in alignment with release objectives, roadmap, timelines, and dependencies, ensuring a healthy, prioritized backlog is always ready for development.
  • Participate in customer discovery and market research to validate assumptions and drive valuable solutions, using data and customer insights to inform prioritization decisions.
  • Serve as the champion of customer experience, partnering with UX/design, product counterparts, and professional services to deliver delightful user experiences across all touchpoints.
  • Understand and evangelize Product Management's business strategy, ensuring alignment with agile development teams and translating strategy into actionable work.
  • Monitor key performance indicator (KPI) metrics and drive continuous improvements, identify and appropriately escalate risks, and ensure features meet quality standards before release.

What You Need:

  • BA/BS in a technical subject area (information science, computer science, engineering) or equivalent work experience supporting products from a technical perspective.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a Product Owner, executing core responsibilities independently: user story writing, acceptance criteria definition, backlog management, and agile ceremonies.
  • Proficiency in backlog/roadmap management tools (Jira or similar); comfortable learning new tools quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly articulate business value, customer needs, and technical requirements to diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to break down complex problems, validate assumptions with data, and make informed decisions.
  • Comfortable with AI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar); able to leverage AI for writing, analysis, research, and productivity; growth mindset toward emerging technologies.
