We are seeking a technically proficient and delivery-focused LFP Product Owner to lead the development of advanced battery cells for electric vehicle applications. This role is pivotal in ensuring engineering excellence, managing key stakeholders, and delivering customer-centric solutions in a fast-paced automotive environment.

As part of the Product Ownership & Validation function at Agratas, you will lead cross-functional programmes focused on the industrialisation of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells. You will be responsible for bridging research and production, ensuring cell technologies are developed, validated, and delivered in line with technical, cost, quality, and timing targets. This is a high-impact leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape Agratas battery product portfolio and drive technical innovation across the organisation.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-calibre team of engineers and scientists focused on cell technology delivery.
  • Define and develop processes for technical sign-off in collaboration with cross-functional teams across Agratas.
  • Lead and manage end-to-end cell development programmes aligned with Agratas product roadmap.
  • Act as the primary technical interface to customers, ensuring delivery of cell products that meet performance, timing, and cost targets.
  • Manage Tier 1 supplier relationships to ensure sub-components meet design and quality specifications.
  • Lead the creation of detailed cell specifications, including drawings and associated technical data (geometric and non-geometric).
  • Support pack engineering teams by providing validated design, test data, and integration support.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in R&D, Quality, Process Engineering, Procurement, and Pack Engineering to ensure seamless programme execution.
  • Provide technical input into the specification and operation of high-capacity battery test facilities.
  • Represent Agratas in external collaborations, including research projects with academic and industry partners.
  • Promote a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all activities.
  • Ensure robust project planning and risk management through effective tracking of APQP gates and proactive issue resolution.
  • Support customer audits and product validation activities, providing documentation and technical input as needed to ensure successful PPAP approvals.
  • Operate in line with Agratas core values and Staff Charter, demonstrating a proactive, open, and supportive leadership style.
  • Willingness to travel and conduct occasional overnight stays as project demands require.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience leading battery cell delivery programmes from concept through to mass production.
  • Strong understanding of battery cell technologies, validation methods, and test requirements (including design, process, and legislative standards).
  • Knowledge of product development frameworks and quality assurance processes within an automotive or high-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing external suppliers and partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and project coordination skills, with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset.

Role Specific Qualifications/Certifications

  • Experience in large-scale battery manufacturing or test facility specification.
  • Exposure to external research collaboration (e.g., academia, government-funded projects).
  • Familiarity with systems engineering and integration principles at cell/module/pack level.
  • Understanding of high voltage safety standards and compliance within battery systems.

Leadership skills

Exhibit leadership through ownership and delivery of high quality technical work with urgency. Work effectively and conscientiously together with others in a fast moving and dynamic team.
