Job Description

About the Role:

09

The Team: The Corporate Actions Data Operations team is responsible for corporate actions validation operations, customer support and new client onboarding, vendor management, quality control, and strategic support for new product initiatives. The Corporate Actions Validation Data Operations team monitors domestic and international corporate actions announcements from inception, applies a stringent cleansing and enrichment process, and produces validated composite corporate actions records for clients.

The Impact: This role ensures corporate actions are accurately captured, researched, validated, and published so clients can confidently notify their end-investors, make investment decisions, and allocate entitlements resulting from events. Your validation decisions and guidance can have significant monetary and risk implications for downstream clients, particularly when event terms, deadlines, and elections must be interpreted precisely. By improving data quality and responsiveness, you directly strengthen client trust, service performance, and overall product reliability.

  • High-impact, market-critical work where your research and judgment directly reduce client risk and operational breaks.
  • Deep domain exposure to domestic and international corporate actions, market practices, and event nuances.
  • Client-facing responsibility that builds strong stakeholder management skills and credibility as a subject matter expert.
  • Opportunities to drive change through process improvements, quality initiatives, training delivery, and UAT/special projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Validate and publish corporate actions composite records by reviewing announcements and completing required event terms, key dates, options, and deadlines.
  • Conduct in-depth research using issuer documentation (e.g., prospectuses/information circulars), exchanges/bulletins, web sources, and vendor feeds to reconcile discrepancies and confirm accuracy.
  • Liaise with external parties (agents, custodians, banks, vendors, exchange officials, transfer/paying agents) to obtain and confirm event specifics, including reconciliation to issuer golden copy.
  • Manage exceptions and risk by reviewing daily exception reports, investigating breaks, escalating unresolved discrepancies, and ensuring timely resolution aligned to SLAs.
  • Provide client support via email/phone by explaining decisions, citing research, guiding interpretation, and delivering system/service enablement where needed.
  • Strengthen quality and controls through QC feedback, procedure/control enhancements, training documentation and delivery, and participation in UAT/process-change initiatives with local/global teams.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of corporate actions experience (corporate actions professionals with 4+ years may apply) experience in announcement capture stage strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to research, interpret, and validate corporate actions terms and market practices across domestic and international events.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills, including explaining judgment calls clearly and professionally.
  • SQL knowledge is highly desirable (ability to query/validate data and support investigations).

Soft Skills:

  • High attention to detail and a strong quality mindset able to spot inconsistencies and prevent downstream impact.
  • Sound judgment and intellectual curiosity-comfortable working through ambiguous, unique scenarios to reach defensible conclusions.
  • Ownership and accountability, including proactive escalation and follow-through to closure.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, able to work effectively across global teams, stakeholders, and time-sensitive workflows.
