Job Description

A Product Marketing Consultant is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that effectively communicate the benefits and features of a product to the target audience.

This role involves conducting market research, crafting compelling messaging, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and analyzing marketing performance to drive product adoption and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for product positioning and differentiation.

Strategy Development:

  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans that align with the product's goals and objectives.
  • Define target audiences and create detailed buyer personas.

Product Messaging and Positioning:

  • Craft compelling product messaging and positioning statements.
  • Develop unique selling propositions (USPs) and value propositions for the product.

Content Creation:

  • Produce high-quality marketing collateral, including brochures, datasheets, whitepapers, case studies, and web content.
  • Collaborate with design and content teams to create engaging and persuasive marketing materials.

Campaign Management:

  • Plan and execute product launch campaigns, including digital marketing, social media, email marketing, and events.
  • Manage marketing budgets and allocate resources effectively.

Sales Enablement:

  • Develop sales tools and training materials to support the sales team.
  • Conduct training sessions to ensure sales teams are well-equipped to articulate the product's benefits.

Performance Analysis:

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns.
  • Use analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and optimize future campaigns.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with product management, sales, and customer service teams to align marketing strategies with business goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for marketing-related inquiries and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Proven experience in product marketing
  • Strong understanding of market research techniques and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
