ABOUT THE ROLE

The Product Manager for Education and Compliance is the primary catalyst for unlocking value and scaling operational efficiency across our specialized academic and regulatory holdings. This is a high-stakes, M&A-adjacent leadership role responsible for strategic direction across companies specializing in academic management, campus engagement, and global regulatory standards.

You will hold primary ownership of the Education sector and secondary ownership of Compliance acting as a consultant-leader providing the strategic boost required to transition founder-led products into market-dominant platforms while systematically modernizing legacy structures.

SECTOR SCOPE

  • Education: Driving innovation in student success tools, campus engagement platforms (residence life and campus management), and specialized academic analytics including lab usage statistics and automated software delivery for higher education.
  • Compliance: Overseeing regulatory documentation systems, global product safety workflows, and specialized ERPs that manage audit trails for highly regulated industries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cross-Sector Roadmap Alignment: Architect a unified roadmap strategy that aligns multiple independent Education and Compliance companies with overarching growth objectives.
  • Strategic Growth & Market Analysis: Conduct sophisticated analysis of shifts in higher education and regulatory environments to proactively identify expansion opportunities.
  • Legacy Modernization: Lead the transition of founder-led tools into cloud-native, API-first documentation systems exceeding global data privacy and workflow automation standards.
  • Acquisition Integration: Lead product due diligence and maturity assessments for new acquisitions; define target-state product strategy and integration playbooks.
  • Data & AI Adoption: Champion AI-powered workflows, automation features, and data-driven discovery to differentiate products and improve customer stickiness.
  • Foundational Partnership: Serve as a high-level advisor to founder teams, preserving the domain expertise that made each business successful through the modernization process.

FIRST 90 DAYS & KPIS

  • 30 Days: Conduct a Product Health Audit across all Education and Compliance holdings identifying critical technical debt and high-value feature gaps.
  • 60 Days: Establish a cross-sector product council to share best practices between student success and regulatory documentation teams.
  • 90 Days: Deliver a 24-month strategic growth plan for each company outlining a path to 20%+ operational efficiency through shared technical standards.
  • KPIs: Product-led growth (PLG) metrics, Net Revenue Retention (NRR), and Modernization Velocity across both sectors.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 8+ years in B2B SaaS Product Management, with significant background in M&A integration or high-growth scale-up environments
  • Expertise in regulated environments (EdTech, RegTech, or compliance) with a deep understanding of student success tools and regulatory documentation systems
  • Proven ability to manage founder relationships respecting culture while driving necessary technical evolution
  • Advanced analytical skills translating complex global compliance requirements into intuitive product features
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-driven product features and data-informed decision-making across multi-product environments
