Job Description

Company Description

NEXO is a financial operating system designed to empower small and medium-sized businesses with enhanced visibility and control over their financial operations. By seamlessly integrating into existing financial systems, NEXO transforms raw transaction data into actionable insights. This enables SMBs to optimize their spending and deliver a modern and streamlined experience for both sellers and buyers. Focused on innovation, NEXO is committed to providing advanced solutions for businesses to thrive in a digital-first world.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Senior Product Manager position located in Pune. The Senior Product Manager (AI/Fintech) will lead the development and execution of innovative AI-driven financial technology products. Responsibilities include defining the product vision, conducting market research, gathering customer insights, and translating them into actionable product strategies. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, managing product roadmaps, and launching high-impact solutions will also be key aspects of this role. The Senior Product Manager will work closely with stakeholders to ensure products meet user needs and deliver on business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap and execution for Nexo's core modules: AP automation (invoice capture, 3-way matching, approval workflows), GST compliance (GSTR-2A reconciliation, ITC tracking, TDS), corporate cards, and connected banking
  • Write precise, implementation-ready PRDs Nexo engineers work with AI coding tools, meaning vague requirements produce incorrect output; your specs are the primary input to the engineering system
  • Define credit product behaviour in collaboration with the NBFC partner: invoice financing eligibility rules, credit line terms, disbursement flows, and repayment UX
  • Conduct discovery with Indian CFOs, finance managers, accountants, and vendors understand the actual workflow pain (month-end close, GST filing, vendor payment cycles), not just surface-level feedback
  • Set and track the metrics that matter: OCR accuracy rate, 3-way match rate, ITC capture rate, invoice approval cycle time, working capital utilisation, and on-time payment rate
  • Make prioritisation calls between compliance fixes (retention risk) and new features (growth) understand the regulatory calendar and what breaks if you don't ship on time
  • Define how AI is used in the product where OCR, auto-matching, and anomaly detection are applied, what thresholds trigger human review, and how the feedback loop from manual corrections improves model accuracy over time
  • Work with engineering to define the acceptance criteria for AI-driven features: what does good enough look like for invoice extraction, duplicate detection, and spend categorisation
  • Translate regulatory constraints (RBI guidelines, DPDP Act, GST law, NBFC-LSP framework) into product requirements compliance is a product decision at Nexo, not an afterthought

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 58 years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in a fintech, payments, B2B SaaS, or financial operations product
  • Deep familiarity with Indian enterprise finance workflows: GST filing, accounts payable, vendor management, or working capital you understand what a finance manager actually does day-to-day
  • Experience writing detailed PRDs with explicit business rules, state machines, edge cases, and acceptance criteria not high-level feature descriptions
  • Technical literacy sufficient to work as a peer with engineering: comfortable with SQL for data analysis, able to read API documentation, understands the difference between a sync and async integration, and why it matters
  • Understanding of Indian regulatory context: RBI guidelines, DPDP Act, GST compliance requirements, UPI/NPCI constraints, and NBFC-LSP product structure
  • Enough AI/ML literacy to make informed product decisions: when to use a model vs a rule, how to define ground truth for a financial classification task, what precision/recall trade-offs mean for a duplicate invoice detector not to build models, but to spec them correctly
  • Experience with Indian banking rails (UPI, NEFT/RTGS) or GST infrastructure (GSTN, GSP, e-Invoice) is a strong advantage
  • Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team where you will write the spec, define the metric, and be accountable for the outcome no dedicated researcher, no separate analytics team
