Job Requirements

As a (Senior) Product Manager at Phenom, you will own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for our messaging platform — the omnichannel communication layer that powers candidate and employee engagement across SMS, WhatsApp, email, and other channels. This is a high-leverage, high-usage product area: messaging touches nearly every talent journey Phenom powers, and reliability, deliverability, and compliance matter as much as new capability.

We're looking for someone who has built or scaled a messaging, campaign, or omnichannel communication product before, and who understands the operational realities of running communication infrastructure at enterprise scale — carrier relationships, deliverability, compliance, opt-in/opt-out management, and the tradeoffs between flexibility and guardrails. You'll also bring an AI-forward mindset, identifying where intelligence can improve send-time optimization, content personalization, or channel selection.

What You'll Do

  • Own the strategy and roadmap for Phenom's messaging platform, balancing new capability development with the reliability and trust the product has already earned with customers
  • Drive the platform's evolution toward true omnichannel orchestration — coordinating SMS, WhatsApp, email, and future channels into coherent, configurable candidate and employee journeys
  • Partner with engineering to ensure messaging infrastructure is scalable, compliant, and resilient, including deliverability, rate limits, and carrier/provider relationships
  • Define and evolve campaign and automation capabilities that let customers configure sophisticated, multi-step communication flows without engineering support
  • Work closely with compliance, legal, and trust & safety functions to navigate regulatory requirements (TCPA, GDPR, opt-in/consent frameworks) across global markets
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI — for example, send-time optimization, content personalization, or intelligent channel selection — and bring them from prototype to production
  • Define success metrics tied to deliverability, engagement, and customer adoption, and use them to prioritize the roadmap
  • Partner with customer-facing and support teams to triage and resolve platform issues, given messaging failures are highly visible and trust-sensitive

What You've Done

  • 4–7 years of product management experience in SaaS, with direct experience owning a messaging, campaign, CRM communication, or omnichannel platform
  • Hands-on experience with SMS, WhatsApp, and/or email infrastructure — you understand deliverability, carrier constraints, and compliance requirements, not just the customer-facing UI
  • A track record of balancing new feature delivery against the reliability and trust demands of a mature, high-usage product
  • Experience navigating compliance and regulatory considerations (e.g., TCPA, GDPR, consent management) in a communication product context
  • Familiarity with applying AI to communication products (personalization, send-time optimization, content generation) is a strong plus
  • Experience with HR technology, candidate engagement, or CRM platforms is an advantage but not required
  • A demonstrated habit of using AI tools in your own daily workflow
  • Excellent judgment and communication — able to balance competing stakeholder needs and make sound calls with incomplete information
