The Role
In this role you will be responsible for defining the development of a product and designing digital interventions and approaches aimed at improving the livelihoods of vulnerable communities and individuals. Starting with a use case focussing on timely payments to informal frontline health workers and scaling across domains and countries towards:
- Empower millions of informal and frontline workers to receive timely, trusted, and transparent payments for their work.
- Transform how livelihoods are sustained by building systems where verified effort reliably leads to predictable income restoring dignity and financial stability for workers who keep communities healthy and resilient.
- Shape the future of digital public infrastructure (DPI) for livelihoods, setting global standards for fair, interoperable, and inclusive payments that can scale across programs and countries.
- Geographic focus is India and multiple countries in Africa
What you'll do -
- Design and evolve a suite of capabilities (registries, services for verifying proof of work, payment instruction generation, dashboards etc.) that make it simple for health programs and ecosystem partners to configure and make payments to informal workers at scale.
- Translate on-ground realities into product design, engaging with health programs, treasuries, banks, and regulators to align the product with real needs and compliance frameworks.
- Ensure that these products are grounded in the realities of frontline workers, program owners and finance teams, and are compliant with relevant payments regulations and ecosystem norms in the focus geographies.
- Work on the complete product lifecycle from discovery, to design, development, GTM and product launch.
- Own product artefacts (PRDs, wireframes, user stories, etc.) and drive product design and development within time and budget.
- Use data from product usage, feedback from users, program teams and partners to evolve the product.
- Value articulation though product marketing and advocacy
- Contribute and participate in team ops and growth
- Own the product experience for end-users, tech partners and program teams from discovery to use.
- Ensure that product design leverages and builds upon existing protocols and specifications for various building blocks like Open G2P, FHIR etc. to enable wider adoption and acceptance of this product.
- Document and share reusable frameworks and APIs that empower partners to easily configure, deploy, and scale the product across geographies.
What You Bring:
You will need a combination of skills, practical experience and knowledge to be successful in this role.
- A deep passion for solving systemic challenges and making a difference in vulnerable communities and informal workers
- Any educational qualification that exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- At least 5 years of experience in product management and 2-3 focussed on digital payments, financial services, or adjacent fintech products.
- Evidence of having taken a product from idea/early stage to scale as a core contributor.
- Understanding and experience of building and shipping products in compliance with payment standards, protocols and regulations as part of previous work
- Data-Driven Mindset: You're not just interested in shipping productsyou want to measure their success and continuously improve them based on real-world data
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience of having worked with public sector use cases and open standards will be a huge plus
- SaaS experience is a plus.
