Job Description - Product Manager

Role: Product Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience: 3+ Years Experience

About Jarvis Technology & Strategy Consulting:

Jarvis Technology & Strategy Consulting is one of India's leading political and policy consulting organizations, founded by socio-entrepreneurs from premier institutions such as IIT, ISB, and NIT. With a strong presence across the country, Jarvis leverages data and technology to drive large-scale political campaigns, design action-oriented community outreach programs, enable targeted communications, and improve the effectiveness of government initiatives. The organization works at the intersection of policy, governance, strategy, and technology, offering young professionals a dynamic and fast-paced work environment with significant learning and growth opportunities.

About the Role:

We're looking for a Product Manager who can take ownership of our products from idea to launch — and everything after. You'll work with our tech, design, QA, and business teams every day, making sure everyone is on the same page and that products are built right and shipped on time.

You don't need to be a developer, but you should be comfortable talking to engineers, understanding how software is built, and translating business needs into clear product requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Plan & Document:

  • Create and maintain detailed PRDs that clearly define product scope, features, and acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain structured documentation across all project phases, including meeting notes, decisions, and action items.
  • Prepare and distribute release notes and product updates to relevant stakeholders post-launch.

Run the Project:

  • Facilitate regular team standups to track progress, identify risks, and remove blockers.
  • Manage tasks and sprints in a project management tool, maintaining dashboards that provide real-time visibility into project status.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication channels across business and technical stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Work with Teams:

  • Be the bridge between Engineering, QA, Design, DevOps, and Business teams — align priorities and resolve dependencies before they become problems.
  • Work with QA to make sure everything is properly tested before release.
  • Do regular product usage reviews with the Ops team to understand how the product is being used in the real world.
  • Proactively identify and address issues before they escalate.

Demos & Retrospectives:

  • Demo the product to internal teams, business stakeholders, and external partners at key project milestones.
  • After each release, run a retrospective — separately with the project team and the business team — to capture what worked and what didn't.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Experience & Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication — you can explain complex things simply.
  • Experience writing PRDs, managing project documentation, and running standups.
  • Hands-on experience with JIRA for task management, sprint planning, and dashboards.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Comfortable working with engineering teams — you understand the basics of how software is built, including development cycles, sprints, and releases.
  • Familiar with APIs and how systems talk to each other (you don't need to write code, but you should understand the concepts).
  • Able to read and interpret basic technical documents, architecture diagrams, or data flows well enough to ask the right questions.
  • Understanding of QA processes — what testing phases look like and what goes into a release checklist.
  • Comfortable with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms for documentation and project tracking.

Mindset:

  • Detail-oriented — things don't slip through the cracks with you.
  • Proactive — you spot problems early and act on them without being asked.
  • A team player who can work across very different kinds of people — developers, designers, and business leads alike.
