Job Title:Product Manager(DGM) SMS
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own and scale our SMS product portfolio within a broader CPaaS platform. This role requires deep telecomexpertise, strong commercial acumen, and hands-on experience building and operating SMS products across global markets.
You willbe responsible fordriving product strategy, pricing, routing optimization, regulatory compliance, and feature innovation across A2P messaging, ensuring reliability, scalability, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Ownership
Define and drive the roadmap for SMS (A2P, OTP, transactional, promotional) within theCPaaSsuite
Identifygrowth opportunities across geographies, use cases, and enterprise segments
Own product P&L, including revenue, margins, and cost optimization
Identifyopportunities to evolve SMS from a commodity channel into a differentiated platform capability
Design Thinking & Customer-Centric Product Development
Build reusable, extensible product constructs (APIs, workflows, orchestration layers) rather than one-off features
Combine deep telecomexpertisewith design thinking and platform mindset to build products that are reliable, extensible, and commerciallyviable.
Contribute to the broader platform architecture and capability roadmap
Telecom & SMS Expertise
Manage SMS routing strategy (direct routes, grey routes, fallback logic, least-cost routing)
Optimizedelivery rates, latency, and cost through operator/vendor partnerships
Work closely with aggregators, carriers, and suppliers to improve quality andpricing
Drive improvements in delivery rates, latency, and cost through routing intelligence and vendor strategy
Handle complexities of sender IDs, content filtering, and country-specific delivery nuances
Pricing &Monetisation
Design pricing models (per message, tiered pricing, country-based pricing, premium routes)
Manage vendor costs, margins, and enterprise pricing strategies
Build business cases for new features and market expansion
Regulatory & Compliance
Own compliance with global and regional telecom regulations (DLT in India, GDPR, carrier policies)
Ensure adherence to anti-spam regulations, sender ID rules, opt-in/opt-out frameworks
Proactively manage risks related to filtering, blocking, and regulatory changes
Analytics & Optimization
Track key metrics: delivery rates, latency, conversion rates, cost per message, margin
Use data to continuouslyoptimizerouting, pricing, and product performance
Define SLAs andmonitorplatform reliability
Cross-functional Leadership
Apply design thinking principles to deeply understand enterprise and developer pain points
Work closely with Engineering, Sales, Solutions, and Carrier Relations teams
Support enterprise deals with deep product and telecomexpertise
Enable GTM teams with clear positioning, documentation, and pricing structures
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of product management experience, with significant exposure to SMS orCPaaS
Deep understanding of telecom ecosystems, includingaggregators, carriers, and routing
Hands-on experience withA2P SMS, OTP flows, and messaging APIs
Strong knowledge ofSMS protocols and infrastructure(SMPP, HTTP APIs, delivery receipts)
Proven experience managingpricing, margins, and vendor negotiations
Familiarity withregulatory frameworks(e.g., DLT in India, international compliance)
Strong analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision making
