Role Summary
The Product Manager will own the portfolio of chromatography vials, other glass vials, and laboratory
glassware, driving product strategy, lifecycle management, pricing, and market development. The role
combines technical understanding of chromatography workflows, vial technology and lab glassware
with commercial responsibility for growth and profitability, including customer webinars and distributor
training across India.
Key Responsibilities
- Define product strategy and roadmap for chromatography vials, sample vials, headspace vials, caps and closures, vial accessories, and the broader laboratory glassware range (flasks, beakers, bottles, tubes, etc.).
- Manage the full product lifecycle: new product ideas, specifications, launch, phaseout, and rationalization based on performance and margins for both vials and glassware portfolios.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis (GC/LC labs, pharma, CROs, food/environmental labs, research and QC labs) to identify gaps and new opportunities in vials and lab glassware.
- Work closely with sales to support key accounts, visit customers, gather voiceofcustomer, and translate needs into product requirements for both consumable lines.
- Plan and conduct technical webinars and inperson product seminars for pharma companies panIndia, showcasing chromatography vials, glass vials, and laboratory glassware solutions.
- Train and continuously upskill the sales teams of distributors and internal sales teams on product features, applications, and positioning, including regular visits to key distributor locations.
- Set list prices, discount structures, and margin targets for vials and laboratory glassware in coordination with sales and finance.
- Prepare technical and commercial content: datasheets, catalog copy, website content, application notes, and training materials for sales teams and distributors.
- Forecast demand and coordinate with production/supply chain on inventory planning, lead times, and phasein/phaseout plans across all assigned product categories.
- Monitor quality complaints and field feedback, and drive corrective actions and product improvements together with QA/production.
- Support marketing campaigns, trade fairs, and digital promotions focused on chromatography applications, injectable/pharma vials, and laboratory glassware.
- Ensure product compliance with relevant pharmacopeias, packaging and glassware standards, and regulatory/customer requirements where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, chemical engineering, or related science; Master's degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 23 years of proven experience in product management for laboratory consumables, chromatography products, pharma packaging, or closely related technical products.
- Additional experience (beyond the 23 years) in chromatography, lab consumables, or pharma packaging, with direct exposure to glass vials and/or laboratory glassware, is preferred.
- Strong technical understanding of chromatography workflows (GC/LC), autosampler vials, insert types, closures/septa, and glass specifications (type I glass, surface treatments, dimensional tolerances), plus working knowledge of standard lab glassware and its applications.
- Handson experience either working in a chromatographic or analytical laboratory, or selling/marketing vials and laboratory glassware.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills; confident in conducting webinars, technical talks at pharma companies, and structured training sessions for distributor sales teams.
- Structured, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple product lines and projects in parallel.
- High willingness to travel frequently across India for customer visits, webinars/roadshows, and distributor training programs.
