Position Summary
The Commercial Product Manager will play a critical role in shaping and delivering Abbott India's Commercial OS. This role owns end-to-end commercial product initiativesu2014right from problem discovery and stakeholder alignment to solution design, delivery, and adoption. The individual will independently run projects, engage senior stakeholders, and work closely with technology and data teams to deliver high-impact commercial capabilities.


Key Responsibilities

1. Product Ownership & Requirements
u2022 Own the full product lifecycle including discovery, design, development, testing, deployment, and iteration.
u2022 Define clear PRDs, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
u2022 Prioritize features and capabilities based on business impact, user value, technical feasibility, and organizational priorities.
u2022 Build roadmaps and maintain a transparent view of releases, dependencies, risks, and trade offs.

2. Technical Fluency & Platform Integration
u2022 Work closely with Data Engineering, Salesforce, SAP, App Dev teams to design scalable, stable product solutions.
u2022 Understand data models, APIs, ETL pipelines, system interactions, and architectural components to challenge technical decisions.
u2022 Review solution design documents, API contracts, system workflows, and integration logic.
u2022 Collaborate with analytics teams to develop dashboards (Power BI, Tableau) that support decision making and product optimization.

3. Vendor & Partner Management

u2022 Manage external vendors, development partners, and solution providers to ensure high quality delivery.
u2022 Drive vendor accountability through structured governance, SLAs, delivery milestones, and performance reviews.
u2022 Negotiate scope, delivery timelines, commercial terms, and ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
u2022 Ensure vendor solutions align with overall architecture, data governance, and security frameworks.

4. Project Management & Delivery Excellence

u2022 Drive end to end project execution, ensuring high quality and timely delivery across multiple platforms.
u2022 Build detailed project plans, sprint schedules, dependency maps, and risk logs.
u2022 Ensure releases are delivered on time, in scope, and within budget.
u2022 Lead UAT cycles, QA reviews, defect resolution, and go live readiness.
u2022 Maintain structured documentation including BRDs, test cases, release notes, and operating procedures.

5. Budgeting & Financial Oversight
u2022 Manage project budgets, vendor costs, and platform enhancement expenditures.
u2022 Track financial performance, forecast spend, and optimize costs across development cycles.
u2022 Support annual budgeting for Commercial OS initiatives by defining investment needs and ROI expectations.

6. Stakeholder Partnership & Business Alignment
u2022 Engage Sales, SFE, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams to identify business needs and translate them into product features.
u2022 Facilitate structured discussions to ensure alignment on priorities, scope, and timelines.
u2022 Deliver crisp product updates to leadership on progress, risks, and impact.

7. Adoption, Change Management & Commercial Impact
u2022 Partner with Training & Enablement teams to ensure solutions are embedded into field force workflows.
u2022 Create adoption frameworks, communication plans, and capability playbooks.
u2022 Track impact on productivity, execution quality, coverage, and revenue indicators.
u2022 Continuously iterate based on user feedback, usage analytics, and performance trends.

8. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
u2022 Identify opportunities to enhance commercial effectiveness through new features, integrations, or automation.
u2022 Benchmark global best practices and adapt them for Abbott's commercial ecosystem.
u2022 Support the creation of standardized product frameworks, governance models, and operating rhythms.

Job Requirements

Qualifications
u2022 Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer Science, IT, ECE, or equivalent).
u2022 MBA preferred (Marketing, Strategy, Analytics, Technology).

Work Experience
u2022 5 years experience in product management or technology consulting.
u2022 Experience with pharmaceutical commercial operations, SFE, or CRM workflows strongly preferred.
u2022 Hands on exposure to Salesforce, CRM systems, Data Lake, SAP integrations, and application development environments.
u2022 Strong understanding of:
u2022 Data engineering fundamentals & API integrations
u2022 Data structures & system design concepts
u2022 Product lifecycle management
u2022 Dashboards & analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau)

Skills & Competencies
u2022 Strong vendor management and negotiation capabilities.
u2022 Proven ability to manage projects end to end with on time, in budget delivery.
u2022 Expertise in writing PRDs, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
u2022 Strong analytical thinking and structured problem solving.
u2022 Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical teams.
