Overview
We're looking for an ambitious Product Manager to play a pivotal role to assist in the fight against cancer.
As Platform Product Manager, you will be responsible for shaping up the direction of Platform offerings for Varian's future ecosystem. This is a highly visible role and a great opportunity for an experienced product leader to influence Varian's Platform strategy.
Designs, develops and manages activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. Serves as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product's lifecycle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line.
Must Have
- 12+ years in a product management role defining and delivering enterprise-class software platform capabilities that enable on-premise, and/or cloud-based, software.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience building/shipping technical products. CSPO/SAFe POPM or similar certification.
- Experience driving product vision, strategic product roadmap(s), go-to-market strategy, and design discussions in an agile technology organization.
- Drive value-based prioritization of requirements based on business drivers, customer inputs, market direction, field contributions and portfolio direction. Create and manage epics and user stories to ensure platform engineering teams have prioritized backlogs to meet product objectives and deliver on the product roadmap. Build, prune, and maintain the product backlog. Translate requirements into technical, functional, and non-functional requirements. Experience with Agile (Scrum) and using tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, Rally, Microsoft Teams and/or Confluence.
- Experience in Databases - SQL/NoSQL and roadmap for DB
- Experience in tools such as Kubernetes K8, Docker, Containerization, Container Security, Ubuntu, application migration from on-premise to cloud. Good understanding of cloud technologies and cloud application development. Good understanding of software sub-domains such as databases, SaaS, PaaS, multi-tenancy, identity and access management, API management, development operations (DevOps).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to present Product demonstrations to internal and external Stakeholders.
- Good experience of working with globally distributed teams in a collaborative and productive manner. Strong team player and highly motivated. Strong negotiation skills. Strong analytical skills. High ethical standards and integrity.
- Support Varian product launches by acting as primary content provider from Platform side to facilitate knowledge transfer of functionality to marketing and sales.
- Work closely with Product Managers of other product teams and with various cross-functional teams including System Architects, Product Engineering, Product Marketing, Customer support, Risk and Quality Assurance.
