About Team:
Payments - Refunds aren't a cost center, they're a trust signal. Every refund processed is a promise kept. As the PM for our Refunds Platform, you'll own the systems that handle 150M+ transactions daily, sitting at the intersection of payments infrastructure, banking relationships, AI innovation, and customer experience. This is a high-ownership, high-stakes platform role for someone who thinks in systems, moves fast, sweats the details others miss, and isn't waiting for permission to pilot an AI idea into production.
About the Role:
1. End-to-end refund lifecycle from initiation to settlement across payment methods, geographies, and banking rails
2. Refund success rate, latency, and failure recovery systems
3. Platform APIs consumed by internal teams (Marketplace, Customer Support, Finance) and external partners
4. Relationships and integration strategies with acquiring banks, payment networks, and processors
5. AI pilots from a napkin idea to a proof of concept to a scaled production system
6. The roadmap you write it, defend it, and ship it
Key Responsibilities
1. Define and drive the product strategy for refund processing at scale
2. Identify, scope, and ship AI-powered capabilities - anomaly detection, intelligent retry logic, fraud signal enrichment, and automated reconciliation
3. Translate complex financial and regulatory requirements into clear, buildable specs
4. Partner with Engineering on architecture decisions - you don't need to code, but you need to understand tradeoffs
5. Run structured AI pilots: define hypothesis, measure signal, kill fast or scale fast 6. Work with Operations and Support teams to close the loop on failure modes and edge cases
7. Own metrics: refund success rate, processing time, dispute rates, cost per refund, AI model accuracy
8. Lead cross-functional reviews with banks, compliance, finance, and product leadership
Superpowers/ Skills that will help you succeed in this role:
1. year of product management experience, with meaningful time in payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure
2. Understanding of payment rails (cards, UPI, wallets, bank transfers) and settlement cycles
3. Demonstrated ability to take an AI/ML initiative from proof of concept to production
4. Comfort with data, you can pull your own SQL, define metrics, and challenge dashboards
5. Strong written and verbal communication; you can explain ACH reversals to an engineer and an ops lead
6. Track record of owning platform or API products, not just consumer features
Preferred Skills
1. Experience working directly with banks, processors, or payment networks
2. Familiarity with dispute management, chargeback flows, or reconciliation systems
3. Hands-on experience shipping AI or ML features in production, not just writing PRDs for data science teams
4. Exposure to LLM-based tooling, predictive modelling, or intelligent automation in fintech contexts
5. Background in marketplace, e-commerce, or lending platforms
6. Familiarity with high-scale distributed systems and the product tradeoffs they demand

You'll make decisions that ripple across every team in the company and every customer who ever asks for their money back. You'll engage directly with external banking partners, influence architecture at the platform level, pioneer AI adoption in a domain where accuracy and trust are non-negotiable, and build systems designed to last.
