About the Role

The Product Lead – Business Banking is a strategic leadership role within the Retail Banking division. The role is responsible for conceptualizing and delivering products that align with the bank's Business Banking value proposition. The incumbent will work closely with sales teams to build capabilities, drive customer acquisition, and deepen relationships through solutions such as CMS, Trade/FX, and Working Capital. This role also focuses on product innovation, process re-engineering, and fostering a collaborative work culture across teams to ensure superior customer delivery and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement product and portfolio strategies for acquiring new business banking customers and deepening existing relationships.
  • Create segment-specific and micro-market solutions in collaboration with sales teams to offer differentiated value propositions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to build team capabilities and foster an enabling work environment.
  • Drive service architecture by integrating various channels such as branch banking, phone banking, and digital platforms.
  • Build collaborative relationships between branch teams, asset teams, and support functions to empower frontline teams.
  • Maximize efficiency through product innovation and process re-engineering.
  • Create frameworks to deepen business banking relationships and grow the business banking book.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance service efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure all product development and delivery is within the compliance boundaries set by regulatory bodies and the bank.
  • Leverage internal synergies to optimize product offerings and customer experience.

Managerial & Leadership Responsibilities

  • Build, grow, and nurture the sales and product teams across geographies.
  • Promote a collaborative work culture across branches, asset teams, and support structures.
  • Drive customer-centricity and ensure delivery excellence across all touchpoints.

What We Are Looking For

Education

  • Graduate in any discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification preferred – MBA from a premier institute.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in business banking, product development, or strategic roles within financial services.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong strategic thinking and product development expertise.
  • Deep understanding of business banking products and customer needs.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive collaboration.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in process re-engineering and service architecture design.
  • High compliance orientation and customer-first mindset.
