Role Summary
The Product Head is responsible for managing the product lifecycle and driving business outcomes through strategic planning, product development, and supporting the sales force. This is a leadership role requiring team management, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with organizational objectives to ensure growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic / Managerial Responsibilities
- Design and implement strategies to drive business for assigned products.
- Conduct periodic reviews and update strategies to meet Business Unit objectives.
- Collaborate with leadership to align product goals with organizational vision.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead product planning, development, and marketing initiatives.
- Ensure products meet customer needs and market demands.
- Drive business growth through product enhancements and new product incubation.
- Streamline processes for improved efficiency and ease of doing business.
- Maintain an ideal mix of product lines and portfolio quality.
- Monitor market trends and take corrective/preventive actions.
- Oversee training programs for sales teams on product features and processes.
- Track and review team performance against defined targets.
People Management
- Set and monitor performance goals for self and team.
- Identify development needs and create learning plans for team members.
- Coach, mentor, and build knowledge within the team on processes, regulations, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Risk & Internal Control
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and risk management frameworks.
- Drive sourcing mix across different channels and customer segments.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in any field
- Preferred: Master's degree
Experience
- 1215 years of experience in Banking/NBFCs.
- At least 810 years in product management and leadership roles.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
- Expertise in product lifecycle management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Knowledge of market trends and regulatory requirements.
