Role Summary

The Product Head is responsible for managing the product lifecycle and driving business outcomes through strategic planning, product development, and supporting the sales force. This is a leadership role requiring team management, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with organizational objectives to ensure growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic / Managerial Responsibilities

  • Design and implement strategies to drive business for assigned products.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and update strategies to meet Business Unit objectives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align product goals with organizational vision.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead product planning, development, and marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure products meet customer needs and market demands.
  • Drive business growth through product enhancements and new product incubation.
  • Streamline processes for improved efficiency and ease of doing business.
  • Maintain an ideal mix of product lines and portfolio quality.
  • Monitor market trends and take corrective/preventive actions.
  • Oversee training programs for sales teams on product features and processes.
  • Track and review team performance against defined targets.

People Management

  • Set and monitor performance goals for self and team.
  • Identify development needs and create learning plans for team members.
  • Coach, mentor, and build knowledge within the team on processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Risk & Internal Control

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and risk management frameworks.
  • Drive sourcing mix across different channels and customer segments.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Preferred: Master's degree

Experience

  • 1215 years of experience in Banking/NBFCs.
  • At least 810 years in product management and leadership roles.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Expertise in product lifecycle management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Knowledge of market trends and regulatory requirements.
