Product Development Intern

Planys Technologies is an IIT Madras incubated start-up company that provides immersed robotic inspection and survey solutions using indigenously manufactured submersible remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV). Founders of the company are Alumni and faculty from the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Madras. Planys Technologies aims to cover the whole breadth of automated inspection solutions starting from customized design and fabrication of robotic platforms to integrated sensing, diagnostics, and end to end asset management systems.

Type of role: Paid Internship

Work from office - Location: Chennai

Duration: 6 months

Job description:

Performing rigorous literature review, understand the state-of-the-art in the field and compile comprehensive market studies of existing products matching specifications of Planys ROVs

Development of a proof-of-concept prototype of the system

Performing experimental studies in laboratory and in field conditions to validate lab-scaled prototype system

Documentation with organization of results and conclusions into reports

Educational Qualifications: B. S/ B. Tech/ M. Tech in Electrical/ Electronics/ Software Engg.

Recommended skills and experience:

Good programming skills any of the following, MATLAB, python, C, C++

Effective communication skills

Solid mathematics background

Experience with implementation of methodologies of controls, signal processing in programming language of choice
