Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Visilant is hiring a Product Designer (UI/UX) to help shape the user experience of our core products across mobile and web. You will be responsible for designing intuitive, accessible workflows used by community health workers, ophthalmologists, and administrators in real-world clinical settings.

This is a highly hands-on role where you will work closely with engineering, clinical, and product teams to transform complex healthcare workflows into simple, elegant user-experiences. You will own the end-to-end design process, from user research and workflow discovery through prototyping, visual design, and developer handoff.

As an early member of a small team, you will have the opportunity to shape not only the product experience but also how Visilant communicates its mission and technology to partners, customers, and investors. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys moving between user interviews, workflow design, polished product interfaces, and the visual storytelling needed to communicate a product's value. If you're passionate about designing products that have meaningful global impact and enjoy working directly with users to solve difficult problems, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Conduct user research and usability testing with health workers, clinicians, and administrators.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure high-quality implementation of designs.
  • Develop and maintain a scalable design system and reusable UI patterns.
  • Continuously iterate based on user feedback and observations from real-world deployments.

Visual Communications & Brand Support

  • Support the creation of presentations, conference posters, brochures, and marketing materials.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with engineers, clinicians, and product stakeholders in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Ability to maintain visual consistency across product and brand touchpoints.
