Product Coach

As part of this evolution, our Product Coach function plays a critical role in improving the quality of product decisions across teams strengthening how customer value, commercial outcomes and strategic priorities are defined, prioritised and measured.
As a Product Coach, you will work deeply within a team to uplift product decision quality. You will embed customer-led, commercially grounded and evidence-based product practices into existing Pace (Agile) cadences, strengthening how teams frame problems, test assumptions, make trade-offs and measure outcomes.
This is a product excellence role that strengthens the what and why of product decisions, ensuring investment, prioritisation, and experimentation are grounded in insight and value, rather than delivery‑level coaching. You will join a respected enterprise coaching community with strong executive sponsorship and a clear mandate to lift product maturity across CBA.
What you'll do
In this role, you will:
- Partner with and coach teams to improve product decision quality.
- Embed the CBA Product Model in day-to-day product practices, without introducing parallel governance or delivery rhythms.
- Coach teams on customer discovery, problem framing, hypothesis testing and validation.
- Strengthen prioritisation through clear value trade-offs grounded in customer, commercial and strategic outcomes.
- Increase adoption of experimentation, product metrics and outcome reviews.
- Establish clear measures of value realisation and coach teams to use evidence to drive continuous improvement.
- Identify systemic impediments to product maturity and partner with teams to address them.
About you
You are an experienced product coach or product practitioner who:
- Has proven experience combining deep product coaching or product expertise with direct accountability for discovery, prioritisation, and value delivery.
- Brings deep hands-on experience in product decision-making within a modern product operating model.
- Has led or coached to discovery and validation using customer research, experimentation and insight.
- Is confident assessing commercial implications and value trade-offs.
- Measures success through customer, commercial and strategic outcomes not just delivery.
- Is credible with product teams to be able to coach through influence rather than authority.
- Balances innovation with sound judgement across risk, governance and controls.
- Uses data, insight and emerging technologies (including AI) to unlock customer and business value.
