Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Procurement Operations Professional, you will provide professional support for purchase order processing and carry out tactical sourcing type activities. You will utilize knowledge of categories and category suppliers to negotiate with suppliers while following IBM Procurement policies to complete purchases. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Purchase Order Processing: Receive requests from IBM clients, negotiate with suppliers, and complete purchases while adhering to IBM Procurement policies.
- Relationship Management: Set up and maintain relationships with IBM clients and suppliers through effective written and verbal communication.
- Problem Resolution: Apply problem determination skills to resolve issues in the purchasing process and clear aged open POs and blocked invoices for suppliers.
- Market Intelligence: Understand market trends and benchmarks related to relevant commodities through research and collaboration with other buyers in the operations team.
- Procurement Tool Utilization: Effectively use IBM Procurement tools to process POs and document supplier/PO related information.

- Category Knowledge: Exposure to categories and category suppliers to negotiate with suppliers effectively.

- Market Intelligence: Experience working with market intelligence and benchmarking related to relevant commodities.
- Supplier Communication: Experience with written and verbal communication to negotiate with suppliers and manage client expectations.
