About the Role

This role is focused on leading the procurement and sourcing of bulk materials and steel products essential for manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for purchasing critical materials such as pig iron, scrap, ferro alloys, HR coils, MS/SS steel, and special-grade steels directly from OEMs, dealers, and large steel manufacturers. The position requires a deep understanding of steel manufacturing processes, technical treatments (casting, machining, nitriding, vacuum hardening), and the ability to evaluate and develop vendors for quality, cost, and reliability.

You will drive cost-effective procurement strategies, manage working capital across multiple plant locations, and conduct weekly market trend and price forecasting to support business decisions. The role also includes handling import-based procurement, vessel shipments, SAP-driven purchasing processes, advanced analytics, and preparing comparative statements, purchase orders, and delivery follow-ups. Strong negotiation skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally are essential to ensure timely availability of materials and adherence to quality and cost targets.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge in Casting, Machining, Nitriding, Vacuum Hardening etc process.
• Able to deal with Large steel manufactures for developing desire steel grade & making MOU/ Agreements.
• Should have knowledge of steel Manufacturing process, vendor bank, Cost saving Techniques.
• Should have exposure in importing of steel & other goods through vessel shipments.
• Forecasting of product & Price analysis. Trends to be done on Weekly basis based on Economy.
• Strong Negotiation Skills with Cost Bifurcation.
• Able to Manage working capital across PAN India Plants based on the market & site requirements.
• Preparing analytics across the inventory, cost & other as required by Management.
• SAP knowledge is must.
• Hands on Advanced Excel, Power BI & other software tools.
• Preparing Comparative statement, purchase order, follow up for timely delivery, Resolving Quality issues.

Qualifications

• BE/ B. Tech Mechanical
• Experience: 10-15 Years

Preferred Skills
