Role Overview
We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Senior Procurement Manager to lead our direct procurement efforts. The ideal candidate will have 78 years of experience sourcing and managing materials such as metal (steel, aluminum), wood (ply, MDF, hardwood), and interior products (modular fittings, fixtures, finishes, etc.) for infrastructure, manufacturing, or project-based businesses. This is a strategic and executional role critical to our supply chain efficiency and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the procurement of raw materials and finished goods including metals, wood products, and interior components.
- Manage supplier identification, evaluation, onboarding, and performance across multiple categories.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and SLAs with vendors and manufacturers.
- Ensure timely procurement aligned with project timelines and production schedules.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies that reduce cost and improve quality and reliability.
- Work closely with design, production, and logistics teams to align procurement with organizational needs.
- Monitor market trends and supply risks; identify alternate suppliers or materials when necessary.
- Maintain procurement records, POs, and supplier scorecards using ERP or SCM tools.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality or timelines.
Requirements
- 34 years of experience in direct procurement or strategic sourcing, preferably in manufacturing, infrastructure, or interiors.
- Strong background in sourcing metal, wood, and interior fit-out materials.
- Solid vendor network across India for both raw materials and finished goods.
- Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with design, operations, and finance.
- Proficiency in ERP and procurement systems (SAP, Zoho, Tally, etc.).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Experience working in high-growth startups or project-based procurement environments.
- Understanding of GST, compliance, and documentation for interstate procurement.
