We are looking for a Procurement Executive to manage the sourcing and procurement of solar components for our C&I projects. You will be responsible for tracking market prices, negotiating with vendors, ensuring timely material delivery, and building strong supplier relationships to support our project execution.
This is a hands-on operational role requiring strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with our project execution team.
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Management & Sourcing
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, cables, and BOS components
- Maintain relationships with key vendors across product categories
- Conduct regular vendor performance reviews based on pricing, quality, and delivery timelines
- Build a backup vendor network to mitigate supply chain risks
Price Tracking & Market Intelligence
- Track weekly/monthly price trends for solar modules, inverters, and other key materials
- Maintain price comparison sheets across multiple vendors
- Monitor market developments (anti-dumping duties, import regulations, manufacturer updates)
- Provide regular price reports to management for budgeting and quotations
Negotiation & Cost Optimization
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and bulk discounts with suppliers
- Compare vendor quotations and recommend the best value options
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through strategic sourcing
- Negotiate warranty terms and after-sales support agreements
Procurement Execution
- Prepare and release Purchase Orders based on project material requirements
- Coordinate with team to understand project timelines and specifications
- Track order status and ensure on-time delivery to sites/warehouses
- Resolve delivery delays, quality issues, or documentation problems promptly
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain organized records of POs, invoices, delivery challans, and vendor agreements
- Ensure proper GST documentation and compliance for all purchases
- Update material procurement data in Zoho Books/CRM
- Prepare monthly procurement reports (spend analysis, vendor performance, savings achieved)
Quality & Technical Coordination
- Verify technical specifications of materials match project requirements
- Coordinate with vendors on product datasheets, certifications, and warranties
- Handle material inspection coordination before dispatch (where applicable)
- Flag quality issues and work with vendors on replacements/resolutions
Required Qualifications
Experience & Education
- 2-4 years of procurement experience, preferably in solar/electrical/construction materials
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, or related field
- Prior experience in renewable energy sector is a strong advantage
Technical Knowledge
- Good understanding of solar components: modules, inverters, mounting structures
- Familiarity with Balance of System (BOS) components - cables, connectors, earthing materials, junction boxes
- Knowledge of product certifications (IEC, IS standards, BIS approvals)
- Attention to detail - accurate documentation and order tracking
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the procurement function
- Problem-solving mindset for handling supply chain disruptions
Nice to Have
- Existing network of solar panel/inverter distributors or manufacturers
- Experience with Zoho Books, Tally, or similar ERP systems
- Knowledge of logistics and transportation coordination
