Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain process safety management (PSM) systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA) for new and existing processes.
- Lead and participate in process hazard analysis (PHA) studies, including HAZOP, FMEA, and What-If analyses.
- Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols to mitigate identified risks.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.
- Investigate process safety incidents and near-misses, and develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide process safety training and awareness programs for employees.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure process safety is integrated into all operations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory changes related to process safety.
- Prepare and submit process safety reports to management and regulatory authorities as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety management within the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
- Strong knowledge of process safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP).
- Experience with process hazard analysis techniques (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification in process safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Process Safety Auditor).
- Experience with behavior-based safety (BBS) and safety culture improvement initiatives.
