Job Description
Role: Business Analyst
The Business Analyst works in close co-ordination with all business owners and IT team members to analyze, design, document and implement solutions to business challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis
- Significant experience with software development-lifecycle and web technologies
- Elicit, analyze, and document business and software requirements (BRD, SRS).
- Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements for developers.
- Able to create proper functional requirements and detail specifications.
- Ability to break down business problems into logical tasks
- Process Modeling
- Create workflow diagrams and process maps for current and future states.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Must have cross-functional business and application knowledge
- Communication & Collaboration
- Ability to lead meetings with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving skills with analytical mindset; Attention to detail
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Act as a liaison between stakeholders, developers, and project managers.
- Facilitate meetings and ensure clarity of requirements across teams.
- Backlog & Change Management
- Manage and prioritize product backlog (features, enhancements, bug fixes).
- Evaluate and manage change requests, assessing impact on scope and budget.
- Testing & Validation
- Prepare test cases and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Validate that delivered solutions meet business requirements.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain detailed documentation of requirements, workflows, and outcomes.
- Generate reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis role in software/application development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies (user stories, sprints).
- Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, or similar, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Conceptual understanding of RDMS concepts
- Proficiency in HTML Editor tools
- Basic understanding of software development and IT systems.
- Must demonstrate a positive and professional attitude, personal integrity, problem solving ability
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
- Degree in computer engineering, business administration, or related field
- CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional)
- PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis)
- Agile certifications (CSPO, SAFe BA).
