Role Overview
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Business Analyst will work across business and technology teams to define data requirements, streamline processes, and support delivery of analytics and reporting solutions. The role focuses on enabling data-driven decision-making through clear documentation, structured analysis, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives, data needs, KPIs, and reporting expectations.
- Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
- Support data discovery, validation, data profiling, and requirement clarification with technical teams.
- Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and BI developers to shape data models and reporting outputs.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (Grooming, Planning, Stand-ups, Review) and manage the backlog refinement, UAT, issue resolution, and release readiness.
- Review dashboards, reports, and analytical outputs to ensure accuracy and business alignment.
- Maintain business documentationdata dictionaries, KPI definitions, process maps, and glossaries.
- Track progress, risks, dependencies, and communicate updates across stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years as a Business Analyst on data, BI, or analytics projects.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and relational databases.
- Ability to use SQL or similar tools for data validation and exploratory analysis.
- Experience with BI/reporting platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Strong communication, facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Nice-to-Have
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms or modern data ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.).
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality, MDM, or cataloging initiatives.
- Industry knowledgeRetail, Telecom, BFSI, Healthcare, Manufacturing, etc.
