As Credit Risk Data Analyst Credit Administration & Infrastructure, you will be responsible to

  • Deploy machine learning type models as executable packages and applications that can automate the calculation and analysis of risk rating (PD/LGD) tasks.
  • Build tools that will help process data, execute models, and conduct analysis to support the deployment and subsequent uses and monitoring of models; and
  • Assist in documenting processes, code, and other related artifacts for review by model risk teams and other reviewers.

About The Team

The team operates under Credit Administration and Infrastructure (CA&I) organization(2LOD) and plays a central role in understanding, monitoring, and anticipating credit risk across the Bank. This position will be part of team leading the deployment of risk rating models which are critical in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing operational efficiency, and supporting credit risk management initiatives. Risk ratings deployment team is responsible for managing, cross-functional coordinating, and executing on the implementation of the dual risk rating framework across Enterprise.

Impact

A successful individual in this position will have cross-functional skills including strong understanding of credit and risk management, project management and understanding of credit processes at a LFI, strong coding experience in Python or other scripting languages as well as inter-personal skills to build relationships across the enterprise with exposure to various stakeholders including senior credit officers, business teams, senior management and regulatory agencies.

The candidate shall play a crucial role in the implementation of CA&I credit risk rating related strategy and maintain strong performance and relationship with various functions and shall be essential for delivering solutions that drive the organization forward and enhance business performance.

Team members develop deep expertise in the Bank's underlying data & data models and apply advanced technical skills to prepare, transform, and analyze large, complex datasets for both analysis and model development.

Key Deliverables

Functional Skills

  • Strong understanding of predictive models including standard regression models as well as other industry standard machine learning methods.
  • Understanding of credit risk concepts, credit products, credit portfolio management theory and practice, model governance, and performance measurement.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and adaptability to work in a developing framework with limited preexisting processes and significant change and transformation.

Technical/Business Skills

  • Hands-on experience using Python to develop end-to-end analytical data driven applications and conduct analysis on data including dynamic data driven dashboards.
  • Good understanding of ML-OPS principles including collaborative coding, version management, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
  • Experience using SQL for data testing, extraction, transformation, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
  • Experience with Power BI, Alteryx or Tableau workflow automation is helpful.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and reporting methods.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field shall be an advantage
  • 9-12 years of relevant analytical experience; strong aptitude to learn quantitative modeling concepts quickly.

Relationships & Collaboration

  • Partner with Model Risk Management and other internal/external review and validation teams to ensure adherence to governance standards and to facilitate independent validation processes.
  • Work with 1st Line business units to understand operational use of models and contextualize performance results.
  • Collaborate with data and technology teams to ensure accurate data sourcing, workflow automation, and process efficiency.
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure clear understanding of external systems and data sources.
  • Partner with model development teams to collaboratively address any model related issues and address them on a timely basis.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to all stakeholders.
