Finance is a global function at Fidelity International, with around three hundred dedicated employees and offices across 12 locations including UK, Germany, Bermuda, Australia, India and China. The Finance Department supports the management of the business in the achievement of business goals and objectives, and improves shareholder value by ensuring the timeliness, accuracy, integrity, consistency, and relevance of financial information, in relation to the business decision-making process.

The jobholder will be responsible for complete ownership of all management accounting processes and data support, working closely with India technology teams, Business finance teams across geographies and regional finance controllership teams. The role involves critical revenue and cost allocations, handling of data issues and acting upon various ad-hoc requests under tight timeframes. A key responsibility includes releasing management results each month within the group's Fast close timelines.

Beyond recurring deliverables, the role holder will be expected to conduct ad hoc analysis across any part of Fidelity International's global business. This requires the ability to synthesise complex financial and operational data into clear insights at short notice, always with the utmost discretion given the confidential nature of the work.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with at least 4-5 years of relevant work experience in finance
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles
  • Good analytical skills with an eye for detail
  • Good people management skills
  • Comfortable reviewing and manipulating large volumes of data
  • Strong analytical and investigations skills with an inquisitive mind
  • Good communication skills - this role require extensive interaction with stakeholders across the globe
  • Ability to grasp new concepts, assimilate information and deliver high quality solutions at speed
  • Comfortable dealing with senior finance leaders
  • Knowledge of Oracle/Smartview would be of particular advantage
  • Flexible team player and proficient in multitasking
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight timelines
  • Able to build strong working relationships within the wider team and finance department.

  • Production & maintenance of management accounts and publishing of monthly results
  • Understanding in detail Fidelity's revenue model and allocation methodologies
  • Managing all related month-end processes including revenue & expense allocations and memo information
  • Ensuring strict adherence to fast close timelines
  • Analysing the management results and investigating any exceptions
  • Liaise with stakeholders and counterparties to resolve all queries pertaining to management results in a timely manner
  • Acting as central approver for all CFP COA dimensions
  • Liaise with finance systems team and CFP support team to ensure synchronisation of data in CFP Core Ledgers, MR Ledgers and PCMCS (Cost Allocation tool)
  • Handling structure change requests in CFP MR and ensuring that changes are reflected in CFP system
  • Maintenance of PCMCS allocation rules
  • Effective documentation of processes
  • Exception reporting on a timely basis
  • Identifying, designing and enabling process improvement initiatives for increased efficiency
  • Participation in key projects as required.
