Position Overview Design & Process Excellence Manager
The Design & Process Excellence Lead will support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain function at ZEISS India.
This is a hands-on role focused on driving process improvement projects, supporting warehouse layout enhancements, and improving operational efficiency through structured methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean. The role is suited for a high-potential professional who is analytical, detail-oriented, and keen to build expertise in supply chain transformation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Lead and support process improvement projects across planning, warehousing and logistics
- Apply Six Sigma (DMAIC), Lean, Kaizen, and other operational excellence methodologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround time.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions with measurable impact.
- Develop baseline metrics and track performance improvements through structured dashboards.
- Support SOP documentation, process standardization, and governance improvements.
2. Warehouse Process & Layout Support
- Assist in warehouse layout planning and space utilization improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of common warehouse racking systems (Selective, Drive-in, Pallet Flow, Cantilever, etc.) and their practical applications.
- Support slotting improvements, material flow optimization, and storage efficiency projects.
- Participate in warehouse audits and identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce handling time.
3. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks, cost drivers, and service gaps.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and improvement recommendations.
- Support cross-functional review meetings with structured insights and action tracking.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 6-8 years of experience in supply chain, warehouse operations, or process improvement roles.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and storage systems.
- Exposure to Six Sigma / Lean methodologies; certification
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/WMS systems.
- Structured problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
