Process Engineer

Job Responsibilities and Major Activities / Tasks:

To lead the team of Technician & laser cell operators for achieving daily KPIs such as OEE & JPH.

To ensure and monitor & control the unauthorized absenteeism/illness on line.

Should be able to display the managerial skills on the line, which includes guiding/supporting/encouraging & completing the task given by the management.

To ensure that the overall performance of his people is reviewed and appraisal done on regular basis.

Ensure that the shift work to their standard operation instructions and meet the requirements of productivity / quality, health and safety.

To ensure all operator personnel wear appropriate PPE at all times and observe health, safety and environmental requirements.

Manage issue of consumables and PPE on the line & ensure that PPEs are used.

To be the person responsible for deciding when to allow intervention to the production process working with maintenance / process techs / quality etc.

To monitor production, recording hourly performance in absolute detail of parts produced / good /scrap /rework and downtime, for area of allocated responsibility.

Should track daily downtimes & do the analysis & find root cause.

To ensure that production is made as per the production plan in quality, quantity and ensure priority calling upon of the services of support functions.

To drive and monitor quick changeover activities on laser cells.

Ensure product is correctly identified at all times.

Ensure resource is always fully utilized at all times. Manpower management, motion study, time study are key skills required

Ensure that housekeeping and 5S activities on each cell is carried out at end of the shift.

Ensure operator TPM is implemented.

To ensure housekeeping.

To support development and training of the operators.

Reduction & analysis of scrap on day to day basis.

To operate captor system & completion of SAP declaration within the shifts.

Ensure all trolleys have valid SAP label signed by production & quality.

To ensure compiling of Shift Reports.

Cover the basic Team Leaders role in absence.

Support project/quotation team in business case calculation regarding new awards where laser process is considered

Design review and approval for new equipment and fixture design

Production accountability for launch of new laser equipment as per GPSC in India plants

Creation of working instructions for laser cutting process for new launches

Reduction of MOD thanks to ergonomic and layout improvements for current laser processes

Improve laser head pathing and continues reduction of cycle time

Creating of process cards and process routines

Creation of TPM standards for production LVL 1 and 2

Feasibility study of old project with creation of new tools and programs to improve usage of current assets

Creation of skills guide module to improve skills and knowledge of local production/maintenance team
