Process Engineer

Job Purpose:

Process Engineer is primarily responsible to ensure that production processes are operated as per pre-defined standard methods and productivity, yield and product quality meet targeted standards. The role will have to work on the following areas

• Process Optimization
• Yield Improvement
• Productivity Improvement
• Rework / Reprocess prevention
• HSE Compliance and Improvement
• Planning and achieving uninterrupted production operations
• Continuous Improvement

Job Context & Challendges:

• Green field project execution: Erection and Commissioning of Machineries and production lines
• Safe and efficient operation of production processes achieving desired quantity and productivity standards.

Accountabilities:

Process Optimization:

• Planning and controlling carbon black manufacturing processes
• Optimizing process parameters towards improved productivity
• Planning and ensuring adequate manpower and material resources
• Troubleshooting process issues
• Collaborate with other manufacturing units, learn from past experiences and optimize processes.

Quality:

• Working towards zero out of specification limits and continuously reducing reprocessing
• Ensuring zero process related customer complaint
• Performing effective Root Cause Analysis and taking Corrective And Preventive Actions for internal non-conformities and external complaints / audit observations.

Yield and Cost:

• Controlling raw materials input and process parameters for optimum yield and productivity
• Continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives – Both Opex and Capex
• Accounting raw materials consumption accurately and preventing variance

HSE:

• Ensuring adherence to safety procedures and standards and ensuring 100% compliance
• Identifying safety challenges, addressing them and taking preventive measures for safety
• Handling wastes in line with environmental standards and regulatory requirements

Standardization and Reporting:

• Developing standard processes and documenting the same
• Generating various daily, weekly and monthly reports and sharing with respective stakeholders

Education: Bachelor's degree in, Chemical / Mechanical Engineering or Relevant Science Graduation

12-15 years experience in production operations in a chemical manufacturing industry

Experience in Carbon Black Manufacturing or similar processes will be preferred
