We are looking for an experienced Principal Software Development Engineer to join our Backend, API team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Software Development Engineering, you'll be responsible for:
- Developing high-quality software that is performant, scalable, reusable, extensible, secure, supportable, reliable
- Writing microservices, develop and extend in-house APIs, write client-side code which interacts with other APIs (RESTful and SDKs)
- Designing and implementing scalable, high availability distributed systems using Kafka and Elasticsearch
- Working with front-end engineers to understand user requirements and provide endpoints that help accomplish building appealing interfaces
- Developing and maintaining a scalable web and responsive applications
What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- Passionate software developer with 12+ years of hands-on software application development experience
- Experienced in cloud computing (AWS, GCP) and Java, Spring (Boot, Cloud, Security)
- Minimum 5 years of experience with distributed systems like Kafka and DynamoDB
- Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable distributed systems
- Containerization experience with applications deployed on Docker or Kubernetes
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience with data analysis and data analytics tools
- Experience with NoSQL databases, messaging services and in-memory cache is a big advantage
