Responsibilities:
- Define and own the multi-year technical roadmap for the data platform.
- Lead the architectural design for complex, cross-cutting initiatives.
- Evaluate and champion the adoption of emerging technologies and architectural patterns.
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices, design patterns, and quality standards.
- Mentor senior engineers and team leads, fostering the next generation of technical leaders.
- Solve the most challenging technical problems and act as the ultimate escalation point for critical production issues.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and trade-offs to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience in software development, with a strong foundation in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and data platforms.
- Experience with various stages of software development, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C++, SQL, etc.
- Deep expertise in big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, and real-time analytics databases.
- Mastery of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP and their ecosystem of data services.
- Strong understanding of data governance and security architecture.
- Proven ability to drive major technical change and gain consensus across multiple teams and departments.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to influence without authority and navigate highly ambiguous situations.
