Job Role: Principal Manager, Tech (Portfolio Data Services) – Core Tech

Our client is currently seeking an engineering manager to join the Portfolio Data Service team in Hyderabad / Gurugram. This team is dedicated to the development and design of scalable, high-performing core infrastructure as well as hosting critical firmwide portfolio data sets for various business groups consumption. The team's aim is to stay cutting edge on technology and provide data solutions for needs revolving around firmwide portfolio data sets. Besides data, at the core, the infrastructure will also be built in a generic way and would be offered standalone as well.

WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:

As a valued member of our team, you will work closely with multiple business teams to

research various data needs, design, maintain, and develop robust libraries as well as the

application, that could act the as the central storage for various firmwide portfolio data sets

(Trades, Positions, PnL and friends) for various business applications use cases.

You will handle big data optimization, design scalable libraries, and ensure quality. You will also

handle project execution in an agile environment, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and

gain exposure to the business and technology in a leading financial firm. Finally, you will also be

responsible for people and project management as a key part of the job role.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

The ideal candidate should hold –

Basic Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree or master's degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience
• 7 - 10 years of relevant experience in core software development, with strong coding and debugging abilities, and an interest towards big data.
• Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages
• Understanding of software development principles, quantitative abilities, data structures, problem-solving and knowledge of design patterns and robust analytical skills with an ability to work in an agile environment.
• The candidate should possess strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills along with effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• The candidate should be capable of independent project execution, including the ability to translate complex data into understandable results.
• Ability to operate with focus, discipline, and minimal supervision along with attention to detail and ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
• At least 1 year of people and team management experience, having led a team of at least 2 members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with financial markets will be an added advantage.
