Job Description

As a Principal Information Technology Operations Analyst for Digital Technology at Medtronic's Diabetes Care center in Pune, India, you'll be instrumental in managing and optimizing critical IT infrastructure. Your expertise will be vital in Identity and Access Management (IAM), driving automation, and ensuring the seamless operation and security of our core platforms, especially SAP and Salesforce. This role demands a seasoned professional who can resolve complex incidents, streamline processes, and recommend innovative solutions to empower people with diabetes globally.

A Day in the Life

You will drive operational excellence and platform reliability by:

  • Managing and supporting IAM systems, including user provisioning, role management, and access reviews, ensuring strict adherence to security policies and compliance.
  • Monitoring the performance, availability, and capacity of IT systems and infrastructure, with a strong focus on SAP and Salesforce platforms.
  • Resolving escalated technical issues and coordinating with internal teams and vendors as needed to maintain high uptime.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing automation scripts using tools like PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript to streamline processes, reduce manual tasks, and boost efficiency.
  • Leading the investigation and resolution of complex incidents, including those specific to SAP and Salesforce, conducting root cause analysis, and recommending permanent fixes and process improvements.
  • Developing and maintaining operational procedures and documentation for IT systems, including SAP and Salesforce platforms, identifying opportunities for further automation and service improvements.
  • Working closely with security, development, and IT support teams to ensure effective delivery of services and solutions across SAP, Salesforce, and other critical business platforms.
  • Communicating complex technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participating in change management activities, ensuring all changes to IT systems, infrastructure, and SAP/Salesforce environments are properly reviewed, tested, and documented.
  • Evaluating and recommending new tools and technologies to enhance operational performance, leading or participating in the implementation of new systems or upgrades, particularly those involving SAP and Salesforce integration.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in IT Operations or a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with IAM systems and concepts (e.g., Active Directory, Azure AD, SSO, MFA).
  • Strong understanding of SAP and Salesforce, including administration, configuration, and integration. Proven ability to support and optimize these platforms in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes, including incident, change, and problem management.
  • Experience with monitoring and performance tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, or equivalent.

Nice to Haves

  • Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud automation tools such as AWS Lambda or Azure Logic Apps.
