As the Principal Enterprise Architect for AI Platform, you'll define the architectural vision and technical strategy that enables safe, scalable, and cost-effective adoption of ML and AIincluding LLM-powered experiencesacross Priceline's products and internal platforms.
In This Role, You Will Get To
- Define and evolve the target-state AI Platform architecture aligned to Priceline's long-term business and technology objectives, with a pragmatic, phased roadmap and measurable interim milestones.
- Design platform capabilities for LLM-enabled systems: model access patterns, prompt orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), fine-tuning workflows, agentic tooling, and scalable model servinggrounded in explicit trade-offs.
- Maintain robust LLM guardrails and governance: policy enforcement, safety controls, prompt-injection defenses, data protection/PII handling, evaluation standards, auditability, and human-in-the-loop patterns where needed.
- Build and standardize modern MLOps approaches across the lifecycle: reproducible pipelines, model registries, CI/CD for models and prompts, automated testing/evals, monitoring/observability, drift and performance management, and incident response playbooks.
- Enable no/low-code AI platform experiences that expand adoption safelyself-service workflows, templates, curated components, and reference implementations that reduce time-to-value for business teams.
- Partner with Product, Data, Security, Privacy, Risk, and Engineering leaders to align AI architecture to business outcomes while meeting reliability, compliance, and responsible AI expectations.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, architectural patterns, and vendorsleading build/buy/partner analyses, proofs of concept, and TCO/ROI assessments.
- Coach senior and staff engineers, uplevel engineering practices, and cultivate a culture of clarity, simplicity, and continuous improvement.
Who You Are
- Strategic thinker and clear communicator who can influence executives, peers, and engineers.
- 10+ years experience in software engineering and AI/ML with experience delivering systems in production (including evaluation, reliability, and governance).
- Strong understanding of LLM techniques and trade-offs: prompt design, RAG, embeddings/vector search, fine-tuning approaches, model selection, latency/cost optimization, and quality measurement.
- Demonstrated experience implementing LLM guardrails: safety controls, policy enforcement, data governance, red-teaming/evals, and protections against common LLM risks (e.g., prompt injection, data leakage, hallucinations in critical workflows).
- Hands-on software engineering background (strong preference for Python; bonus for NodeJS ecosystem) with fluency in one or more of the following: API design (gRPC/REST/GraphQL), DevOps/CI/CD, testing/QA, and observability/SRE practices.
- Experience with traditional MLOps practices and tooling across training, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management; comfortable partnering with data science teams and driving reproducible, measurable outcomes.
- Experience with no/low-code AI platforms and patterns that enable broad adoption without sacrificing security, compliance, and operational rigor.
- Cloud-native experiencestrong preference for GCP, especially Vertex AI services (e.g., model management/serving, pipelines, monitoring/evaluation, and related GenAI capabilities).
- Bias for clarity and simplicityreducing complexity and enabling teams to move faster and smarter.
- Analytical problem-framer who reduces ambiguity into clear, actionable components.

Priceline is following a hybrid working model, which includes two days onsite as determined by you and your manager (ideally selecting among Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday). On the remaining days, you can choose to be remote or in the office.
