Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically authoritative Principal Engineer specializing in Signal Integrity. The ideal candidate will be a recognized leader in the field of interconnects, responsible for designing, modeling, analyzing, and characterizing high-speed connectors and systems. This role involves significant technical leadership, customer engagement, and conducting cutting-edge research to advance interconnect science.

Primary Purpose:

  • Design, model, analyze, and characterize high-speed connectors and systems.
  • Act as a focal point in providing technical leadership within the team and to external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with customers to develop application-specific solutions and provide comprehensive technical support.
  • Conduct research on new and emerging areas of interconnects science, contributing to innovation.
  • Be recognized by customers as a technical leader in the field of interconnects.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Discover and invent new techniques and methods in modeling, design, and measurement.
  • Lead a team in developing major new products, guiding and directing the activities of multifunctional teams according to engineering management priorities.
  • Perform high-speed empirical and analytical signal integrity evaluations of connectors.
  • Recommend changes in designs or technical procedures to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Conduct and coordinate analytical simulations for connector systems.
  • Provide development input to design teams, and create electrical product models and documentation.
  • Analyze variation dependence and perform parametric optimization.
  • Work in a laboratory environment to validate designs and correlate measurements with simulations using instruments like VNA (Vector Network Analyzer), TDR (Time-Domain Reflectometer), and Oscilloscope.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Education:

  • Required: BSEE, BS Physics, or BS Applied Math.
  • Preferred: MS and PhD in the above disciplines.

Skills Sets:

Required:

Technical Team leadership.

  • Software Proficiency: Ansys HFSS & Designer, CST, Agilent ADS & PLTS, Matlab.
  • Test and Measurement Expertise: VNA, TDR.
  • Strong capabilities in Channel modeling and correlation, connector design and validation.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers.
  • Proven ability to publish technical papers.

Preferred:

  • Established records of invention such as patent ownership.
  • Established records of technical paper authorship.
  • Experience in communications system and hardware engineering.
