Job Title: Principal - Engineering | Majid Al Futtaim Retail

We're expanding our core engineering team and need a hands-on technical leader who can architect, deliver, and own business-critical platforms end-to-end. If you love turning bold ideas into reliable, high-throughput systems that directly move the P&L needlewe want to meet you!

What You'll Do:

Own architecture & delivery of payment, catalog, logistics, and growth services handling tens of thousands of requests per second

Design, build, and tune Java 17+ / Spring Boot microservices, Kafka event pipelines, distributed caches, and cloud-native deployments (Kubernetes on either AWS/GCP/Azure)

Drive engineering excellence: establish coding standards, automate CI/CD, champion observability and SRE practices

Lead & mentor a squad of senior engineers; facilitate architecture reviews and hands-on pair design

Translate features into business impact: partner with Product & Data teams to optimize conversion, retention, and unit economics

What We're Looking For:

8+ years of production software experience, with 3+ years in a staff/principal or tech-lead capacity

Proven success delivering high-scale, low-latency systems in e-commerce, quick commerce, food-tech, fintech, or similar domains

Deep expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot, Kafka, Redis, SQL/NoSQL (PostgreSQL/MongoDB), Kubernetes, and AWS/GCP

Solid command of DDD, clean architecture, CAP trade-offs, chaos testing, cost optimization

Passion for mentoring and a true you build it, you run it mindset

Bonus: exposure to real-time analytics, streaming ML, serverless, or LLM/RAG workflows
