Principal Engineer (Founding Engineer) - Equity Based Role

AtomFlo is building a unified, enterprise-grade workspace operating system that combines CRM, Projects, Chat, Email, Calendar, Documents, Automation, Events, and AI into a single native platform.

This is not an integrations-first SaaS.

We are building a clean, modular, event-driven system with AI embedded as a cross-cutting intelligence layer.

What you'll do

• Architect and lead the design of distributed, modular backend systems
• Own core platform services (CRM, Projects, Docs, Automation)
• Define service boundaries, data ownership, and API contracts
• Embed AI safely across the system (permission-aware, non-autonomous)
• Work closely with product and design to turn real workflows into systems
• Mentor engineers, lead reviews, and raise engineering standards
• Own reliability, observability, and production readiness

What we're looking for

• 10+ years in backend / platform / systems engineering
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, APIs
• Experience with Python, PostgreSQL/MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ
• Cloud experience (AWS or GCP), Docker/Kubernetes
• Familiarity with CI/CD, observability, and performance optimization
• Frontend awareness (React/TypeScript) is a plus
